Union Project Invites Community for Family Block Party the Evening of October 9

Tuesday, October 9 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm
, the Union Project invites the community to join their neighbors for its first Monthly Block Party, an evening of family entertainment and a community dinner. The family evening will feature free festive pumpkin painting and carving.

Beginning at 5:30pm, an affordable family buffet will be served by Urban Fusion Café & Catering. The healthy family buffet is $5 for adults, $3 for kids twelve-to-six-years, and kids under five-years eat for free. Block Party will be a regular at the Union Project event occurring the first Tuesday of every month.

Following the Union Project's goal of community building, the Block Party provides a venue for neighbors and their family's to come together for comfortable entertainment and social connections. Through food, music and fun, the Union Project Block Party will create an atmosphere to strengthen the spirit of the community and create cultural understanding.

For community members who would like to participate, the Zone 5 Public Safety Meeting will also be held at the Union Project on October 9 at 7:00pm. This is a great opportunity for community members to voice their opinions and assist their neighborhood in becoming a safe and friendly environment for all members and ages.

The Union Project is a non-profit organization, located on the corner of Negley Ave. and Stanton Ave. in the former Union Baptist Church. The Union Project provides a gathering and working space for artists, community builders and people of faith. In keeping with both its mission and its focus on sustainability, the Union Project has initiated four social enterprises that employ local at-risk youth and low-income individuals.
